Dear Albertans,
Are we free? Will we remain that way?
Not if we are forced to pay taxes that we do not want imposed on us.
We send our federal taxes to a distant place so that others can redistribute (equalization payments and such) it to their supporters in other provinces (which are better represented in the Canadian Parliament).
Our provincial premier and government (the ones that represent us to Canada and the rest of the world) have surrendered to outside forces. They say, "we need to impose the carbon tax on Albertans, so we can get pipelines approved."
Let's not blame our provincial government for this. It is counter-productive.
Instead, let's seize this opportunity to look at other options that do not include "submitting" to an increasingly "greedy and self-righteous" federal government (of any party).
Let's simply ask: Why should Alberta stay in Canada?
