The Alberta Electrical Grid looks dense, from Lethbridge. Away from urban areas, not so good, with arms extending out into a naked end. North of Edmonton, the wide open spaces between major Grid Arms illustrate the uselessness of e-vehicles. I point out the scanty numbers of Electrical Grid Emergency Vehicles that run as e-vehicles.
We need to provide dual mini Nuclear Water Boilers to every off-grid settlement in Alberta (& north of 60?), to provide process steam for heat & small industry plus reliable electricity. The Costs of diesel & diesel transportation are soon going to price-out diesel-powered electricity.
Nuclear water boilers can supplant current coal-fired steam boilers, keeping the trained operators, and suppliers for steam turbine powerhouses, in Alberta.
I think of huge Dirigibles, powered by mini nuclear reactors, able to heat their envelope to shed dew, rain, ice and snow, heat their lifting gas and even their air-filled balloonettes, for extra lifting power. The ability to pump lifting gas from balloonettes & store as cryoliquid, adds extra flexibility. Such Dirigibles can transport bulk goods direct to customer, across land, water, and around tall mountains, saving delays at ordinary seaports and at ordinary railway switching yards and warehouses.
