Why even ask?
What's the point?
Well, the point is ... that talk radio (in particular) seems to be rife with talk (belly aching) about whether Calgarians (and really
Albertans) should host (and pay for) another Winter Olympics in 2026 in Calgary. Based on this, wouldn’t it be nice to know
if any Albertans won anything at the recent 2018 Winter Olympics? Remember, that Canada had a medal tally of 5 - at the 1988 Winter Olympics. And 2 of those medals came from one Albertan - Karen Percy.
But first we must define "Albertan."
An Albertan (in my world) is anybody that has resided "for a time" in Alberta. If you don't believe me, think about Wayne Gretzky - born elsewhere, major road named after him in Edmonton, and now resides elsewhere). Based on that, I came to a tally of 12 Olympic medals that "Albertans" had "a hand in winning" at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
